Plagiarism is the act of stealing someone else's work and passing it off as your own. It means to use someone's work and crediting it as your own new work. This, in my eyes, is the worst thing that one can do while in school. It is a form of cheating, stealing, and lying. To plagiarize something means that you are not using your own work. I think this is bad for many reasons. Number one, mainly because it is stealing someone's work, you are cheating, and it is lying about your work. This could get you kicked out of school, fired from a job, or thrown out of just about anywhere. Also this is bad because plagiarizing will get you no where in learning what you are meant to learn. To plagiarize is just to cheat your way out of doing ones work, therefore you will learn nothing from the project or paper. Your teacher is clearly trying to teach you something, and to cheat your way out is just disrespecting your teacher. I also believe that to plagiarize is disrespecting yourself because you will not get very far in life if you are always cheating and stealing your way out of things. I have always believed that the way to get your grades is by earning them, not by cheating or letting the teacher give you the grade. This has always been very important in my life, so I will not plagiarize in this class.
